Right me the Dam Ticket!  The following is what went down in my opinion...

It seems that The Fredonia NY Police department is doing half a job. Actually this cop wasn't doing her job at all. Yet she found time to harass me and violated  my civil liberties and perform unethically and un-professionally.

The story: I went to Wal-Mart after KFC, the KFC in Fredonia is cheaper and the Food is better than the one in Springville, so I go to Fredonia now also there is a Walmart, Denny's , Arby's and Wendy's along with a Mc Donald's. It's a one stop destination for me.

Anyways I get to Walmart and because snow is covering all the Handicapped spaces and all are either filled with handicapped legally parked or on the side I was on cars questionable parked, with the caveat they had no idea they where illegally parked by signage and parking spot lay out because the mandatory no parking signs as per NYS law in the handicapped access isles are not up. There happens to be  one slot next to a cart and between two cars parked with-out handicapped tags.

I pull into this spot that I am legally entitled to park in, though if the space where visible as in the summer, every other car parked when I pulled in would have been parked  illegally. But  because they are parked wrong or blocking my access shouldn't mean I can not park in the space that is left open. If you towed all them away, I could park perfect but that was not the case! So I make due with what is available!

So I 'am parked and go in Walmart and shop. I come out with a bottle of washer fluid carrying it because pushing a cart would hurt my back more than carrying the bottle even though it as the limit of what I can safely carry without aggravating my bad back and knees.

I see a Fredonia NY Cop car out at the cars next to me and a Female officer ticketing all the cars to the right of me without handicapped tags. I disengage my alarm and pop the hood of my truck open and start filling my washer fluid tank. I say how you doing to the cop. Just to let her know I'm behind her to the side. I finish filling and close the hood.

This police officer car 41 it was comes up to me and says you know your parked illegally. I say I know I'm parked across the space because all the other parked cars made it impossible to park parallel. She tells me I gave everyone else a ticket but I'm giving you a break, yada, yada ,lecture, don't do it again, she gets pissed because I say I have every right to park there. She checks my handicapped tag and ask me if it mine I say ya. I say I am entitled to park here, she says it says vans. Tells me I'm not a van yada, yada, harass, harass, violate my civil rights, etc, etc. I say write me the dam ticket then. Right the dam ticket. Then I lecture her, you have no right to harass me. I am parked legally. She says, I said I wasn't going to give you a ticket and walks away. I start taking pictures of the scene.

I will say one thing I broke the my Golden Rule never argue with a woman actually I didn't really argue, but don't tell me your doing me a favored by not giving me a ticket for something I didn't do in the first place. It bugs me enough that I need to use Handicapped spots and being alienated  for using them by the police is degrading  and if I find a regular spot I will use that first if close up front usually anyways, but I am going to sue the next cop that hassles me about handicapped parking, in fact I will sue backwards to show a pattern of abuse pervasive in WNY

I have a couple of problems with this cop. First even though I will usually commend any cop ticketing  illegally parked cars without a handicapped tag, parked in a handicapped spot or access isle. I know, she knows dam well that according to the signage visible all of those cars there are within the law parking the way they did. If she can't prove fore-knowledge of them knowing the layout of the parking lot 100 percent, those people where legally parked according to the signage. ( It sort of burns me that they are parked that way but without the proper signage I am going to give them the benefit of my doubt as an ethical cop would just put warnings on the cars parked there because technically there is doubt.)

She's a cop scamming the ignorant or innocent or marginally guilty people parked there thinking they are parked legal because of the snow on the ground. It's like ticketing people for speeding in a work zone when they never took the signage down and work ended 2 years ago.

It not ethical behavior by a cop.

Also she's forgetting the reason the law is there is to give the disabled parking, not to generate ticket revenue and it's not carte blanc to harass the disabled parked there. No matter how askew the vehicle is while parked.

 It goes against the Fredonia police chiefs stated mission statement of the Fredonia police department.

Besides that it's not acceptable behavior to harass the disabled parked in disabled parking spots. Even if she was being ethical in her ticketing of the other vehicles, if they could see the asphalt below them and the proper signage was up. She was way out in left field when It comes to lecturing me , harassing me, dressing me down, irritating me blood pressure, violating ada and civil right laws. Generally abusing the color of her position.

I take my pictures and immediately call the Fredonia police and ask for the sift supervisor, tell them I want to complain. This is my attempt to solve things without having to write about it or filling a formal complaint.

I am pulling into the Tim Horton's and my phone rings I pull to a stop answer the phone and it a sergeant from the Fredonia police department.

I tell him I really don't want a big deal but this cop was doing her job halfway. He says: I take offense with you saying my men are doing their job half way. He goes into a rant. Who do you think you are? We are the police, we can arrest you, ticket you, yada yada, if you know what's good for you yada yada. I say whoa, look halfway she was ticketing people parked illegally in the parking spaces good thing! Right? I was parked legally and she harasses me and yells at me. He says are you disabled? I say yes, did you have a parking tag ? I say yes, he says you told her you knew you where parked wrong. What I said was yes to a question asked, what I said was yes I am parked here and before I could say, but I am parked legally this woman jumps down my throat and says you said yes ( No shit cop, let me finish my sentence!) It's like I'm having a dale Carnegie sales training nightmare and a high pressure salesmen is asking me all yes questions to get me to slip up and say yes to buying a 10K under car rust proofing for a new car, I still ain't buying the rust proofing, nobody  with half a brain is buying the cops argument and it don't mean shit, all it means is your a high pressure unethical snake oil salesmen of a unethical cop harassing the disabled! He says: She is saying it was a van spot your parked illegally. I say: hang on it's van accessible not exclusive. I've gone thru this before and I know the law. He says its illegal.( It's like he thinks everyone that not a cop is a 2 year old and he's the nanny and he tells everyone the reason is because I say so! It has nothing to do with the legislator passing laws! Cops can do what every they want!)

Your lucky she didn't give you a ticket. I take exception to your claim , yada yada, we are the law. I ask your name? Matchlock, your chiefs? Meyers, the last name of the officer in car 41? Noble, I say that's repeat the names back to him and he( We can do what ever we want, watch out) hangs up on me.

You know it's arrogance and stupidity to no end when you blindly defend your officers and threaten people on the phone when your a cop in charge of other people. I can see defending your people. Notice I said people not men like he said. But all he had to do is say, I can see your point of view we will review our policy as it deals to handicapped and disabled parking and I apologize for the misunderstanding. I will talk to the officer involved.

NO now I want justice. I want to file a complaint. I want and apology from the sergeant and the officer, and instead of complaining about one person I am complaining about 2 people and the cover up.

The least of all this stuff is that both cops where un-professional in their actions.

Actually I don't give a dang about a complaint and apology. I write it here, expose them for what they are and that's ok with me.

  Any Cop that would harass  a disabled person for parking in a handicapped space has some sort of problem, in my opinion.

When I first got the handicapped tag I wouldn't use it, if it was just me driving, I actually got it because when I would have to give my ma a lift to the airport or else ware she wanted to take her tag with her to use when she got off the plane so we couldn't use hers at this end and Cheektowaga will only give one tag per person and  because, like any man I don't like to admit I have health issues.
